Help Shape Bronte: 2027-2030 BIA Board Elections Are Coming
Are you passionate about Bronte and interested in helping shape its future?
As Bronte Village continues to grow and evolve, the people who make up our business community have an important role to play in what comes next.
The current Bronte BIA Board of Management term comes to an end in 2026, and we are beginning the process for the 2027–2030 Board of Management elections.
If you care about the success of Bronte, enjoy working collaboratively with others and would like to contribute to the bigger picture of our business district, we encourage you to consider putting your name forward.
What does the BIA Board do?
The Board of Management provides strategic direction and governance for the Bronte BIA. Board members help set priorities, oversee the BIA’s work and resources, represent the interests of the broader business community, and support initiatives that strengthen Bronte as a vibrant place to work, shop, dine, visit and invest.
It is an opportunity to look beyond your own business and help shape the future of the district as a whole.
Who are we looking for?
A strong Board brings together a range of perspectives, experiences and skills from across our business community.
The Bronte BIA Constitution identifies areas of expertise that can contribute to an effective Board, including:
- Marketing
- Beautification
- Finance
- Legal
- Operations
- Stakeholder Relations
Experience in strategic planning, economic development, communications, events, tourism, business development, real estate and community engagement can also be valuable.
You do not need previous Board experience to contribute. We are looking for people who are thoughtful, collaborative, willing to listen to different perspectives and interested in the long-term success of Bronte.
We also want our Board to reflect the diversity of the business community it represents, with a broad range of backgrounds, experiences and voices.
Who is eligible to run?
To be eligible to serve as a Board member, an individual must:
- Be a BIA member (business, property owner), or employee of a BIA member with written consent from the member;
- Be a Canadian citizen who resides in Oakville;
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Meet all other eligibility requirements outlined in Section 10.2 of the Bronte BIA Constitution; and
- Complete and submit the required nomination consent form.
Key Nomination Dates

Each nomination must be supported by two BIA members and candidates must complete the required nomination consent documentation.
There are eight elected positions on the Bronte BIA Board of Management. One additional Board position is held by a Town of Oakville Council representative appointed by Council.
