A Summer to Remember: The Impact We Made Together
There’s something special about summer in Bronte.
The harbour is busy, patios are full, music drifts across the water, and there always seems to be a good reason to wander down to the village.
But behind all those summer moments is something even more meaningful: a community coming together.
As we wrap up another busy summer, we wanted to take a moment to look at what we accomplished together in 2026 – and the impact it had on our village.
30,000+ reasons to celebrate
This summer, we welcomed more than 30,000 visitors to our events and hosted 70+ events and activations, including 15 free lakeside concerts through Bronte Lake Notes and the Oakville Wind Orchestra.
We also expanded our Bronte Dominican Bachata Party to 13 weeks, bringing people of all ages, stages and abilities together for a weekly dance party in Bronte Market Square.
From music and markets to cultural celebrations, family activities and community events, our summer calendar gave people plenty of reasons to visit Bronte, spend time here and enjoy the village.
And importantly, all of our programming was free and accessible to everyone.
The Bronte Farmers’ Market made a difference
Our third annual Bronte Farmers’ Market brought together local farmers, makers, food producers and entrepreneurs for eight Sundays throughout July and August.
We welcomed 45+ vendors each week and more than 12,000 visits over the season. Interest from vendors continues to grow, with over 200 applications received for this year’s market.
When we asked our vendors about their experience, 100% were very satisfied with the market atmosphere and their overall experience, while 88% rated customer turnout as excellent.
Even more telling, 63% of vendors said their sales at Bronte were better than at other markets.
And the impact extends beyond the market itself.
96% of market visitors told us the Farmers’ Market helps build a sense of community in Bronte.
That is something we’re incredibly proud of.
The market isn’t simply a place to buy a basket of strawberries or a loaf of bread. It’s a place to bump into neighbours, meet the people behind local businesses, discover something new and feel connected to the village.
And when people visit the market, they don’t necessarily stop there.
74% told us they visit other Bronte businesses during the same trip.
That’s exactly the kind of ripple effect we hope to create – giving people another reason to come to Bronte and encouraging them to make a day of it!
Giving back
Some of the most meaningful numbers from this summer aren’t attendance numbers at all.
They’re the numbers that show how generous our community is.
Together, you donated nearly 300 gently used coats through Fill the Big Yellow Chair in support of the Bronte Coat Drive.
At our Bronte Lake Notes concerts, you also donated an incredible 404 pounds of food in support of Kerr Street Mission.
And we partnered with 10 community groups to bring free, inclusive experiences to the village throughout the summer.
That’s community in action.
Making room to stay awhile
We also continued investing in the little things that make Bronte feel welcoming.
This year marked the ninth edition of our At Home in Bronte Muskoka Chair Project, with 82 new chairs added throughout the village.
That brings the project to 150+ chairs – colourful invitations to sit, relax, meet a friend and enjoy the view.
Because creating a great village isn’t just about big events. It’s about creating places where people want to stay awhile.
More than events
When we look back at the summer, we don’t just see 30,000 visitors or 70+ events.
We see people discovering a new business.
A vendor meeting a new customer.
A neighbour running into a neighbour.
A child enjoying a free activity.
Someone donating a coat.
Someone bringing a bag of food to a concert.
These are the moments that make Bronte feel like Bronte.
And none of them happen without you.
