We’re Rolling Out a New Project!

You know we love our seating in Bronte. A simple gesture like providing a place to sit is key to transforming a place where everyone feels welcome. And public spaces which people feel connected to, actively participate in and are proud of have never been more important to people’s wellbeing.

Enter Bronte Brush ‘n’ Roll!

New this year, this art project invites local residents, businesses and community groups to apply to paint a picnic table that will be on display in Bronte Market Square year-round. The tables will provide much-needed seating and vibrancy in the Square – maximizing its use and value – and providing a place for visitors to relax and enjoy a coffee or an ice cream, or an event like our Farmers’ Market.

We’d love for you to help bring this project to life. Local residents, businesses and community groups are invited to apply to paint a picnic table this spring…six tables in total.

These Canadian-made tables will be 8-ft cedar picnic tables with aluminum legs. A beautiful canvas, if we do say so ourselves!

Applicants are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to develop a unique design that reflects the spirit and identity of the Bronte community. Each picnic table will have a plaque displaying the name(s) of the artists, as well as the title selected for the work-of-art.
