Business Licenses Now Online

Oakville businesses can now submit or renew and pay for their business licences online.

Beginning Tuesday, December 7, business owners or operators requiring new licenses, or looking to renew their license, will be able to do so quickly and easily by visiting www.oakville.ca/onlineservices and first selecting Licences then Business Licences. The process will begin by the applicant creating a secure account after which they will be able to review the list of requirements, apply and pay for their specific licence.

The first step in the process will be for the business owner or operator to go to www.oakville.ca/onlineservices and create an account. Once completed, the applicant should visit www.oakville.ca/onlineservices and select Business Licences. This will start their journey through the online application process.

To support customers, the town’s licensing web page has been updated with information including a step-by-step process to help guide customers with their online applications.

The town has been advising existing licensed businesses of the transition from email and in-person to online application submission through notifications attached to their renewal letters.

To assist our customers with the transition to this new online format, new business licence applications will be accepted by email until January 1, 2021 and any existing licensees applying for renewal will have until January 15, 2021. After this time, all applications will be accepted through the online process only.

The new business licence application process is the first of a number of Municipal Enforcement Services that are being offered online. In 2022, noise exemption and sign permit applications will be transitioned to an online application process as well. The result will be easier, faster and transparent processes.
