ABOUT THE DANCE INSTRUCTORS:

Tiana Adames

Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Tiana fell in love with Latin dance at just 14 – sneaking away to learn salsa and bachata before her mom ever found out. That spark never left her. Since 2012, she’s been a vibrant part of the GTA’s social Latin dance scene. In 2022, she stepped into her first-ever competition at the Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress in Toronto, taking 1st place in both the Salsa and Bachata categories, and 3rd in Chacha. Last summer, she proudly sponsored Salsa Soul at the Hamilton Waterfront through her business, Filedaria – a boutique salon in Oakville specializing in multiracial textured hair. Now, she’s bringing her passion full circle by hosting a Bachata event in the public square, inviting the community to move, connect, and celebrate.

Giovanni Torres, also known as Dj GiO, was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, surrounded by salsa music, teaching, and dancing, which ultimately became his passion.  As a dancer, dance instructor, cardio salsa specialist, choreographer, judge, and director of Los Salsomanos Dance Company, he has established a prolific career.
