Indoor Dining Capacity Increased
Dining capacity limits have increased at restaurants, bars and other food and drink establishments for Red-Control level regions of the Ontario Framework, like Halton, as of Saturday, March 20, 2021.
Capacity limits for indoor dining are now based on a standard, scalable calculation that allow for up to approximately 50 per cent of the indoor dining area to be accessible to the public, subject to physical distancing rules. The total occupancy cannot exceed 50 patrons in Red-Control.
To keep the safety of patrons and workers a priority, public health and safety measures for indoor and outdoor settings have been strengthened with measures that include, but are not limited to:
- Limiting tables for indoor dining to members of the same household with exemptions for patrons who live alone and caregivers;
- Posting a sign in a location visible to the public that states the maximum number of patrons they are permitted to operate under;
- Maintaining table distancing of 2m apart both indoors and outdoors; and
- Continuing to wear masks, stay home when sick and washing hands frequently.
