Bronte BIA 2026 Budget Approved by Town Council: Here’s What to Expect this Year
Bronte Village is gearing up for another exciting year. The Bronte BIA’s 2026 budget has officially been approved by Town Council, allowing us to continue investing in the programs, events and beautification initiatives that help keep our community vibrant year-round.
Funded through a levy on commercial properties within the business improvement area, the BIA budget supports everything from marketing and promotion to community programming and streetscape enhancements – all designed to bring people to Bronte Village and support our local businesses.
What’s Coming to Bronte in 2026
This year’s budget supports a full calendar of events and initiatives that residents and visitors have come to know and love.
The Bronte Farmers’ Market returns for its third year with a nine-week summer run (every Sunday in July & August), culminating in a special Halloween-themed market in October.
Music will once again fill the waterfront during Bronte Lake Notes, our free 12-week summer concert series featuring live performances by exciting local bands.
Dance lovers can also look forward to the return of the Bronte Dominican Bachata Party (Friday evenings from June 19 – September 11), a unique open-air dance experience that invites everyone to learn the rhythms and culture of Bachata.
Public art will remain a signature feature of the village as we celebrate year nine of our At Home in Bronte Muskoka Chair Project, which transforms iconic Muskoka chairs into colourful works of art displayed throughout the community.
The BIA will also continue its tradition of bringing the community together to kick off the holiday season the annual Tree Lighting Celebration (Saturday, November 21).
Supporting Community-Led Events
Beyond BIA-led programming, our Community Investment Program will support more than 30 community-led events in 2026. These include cultural festivals, outdoor concerts, library story times by the lake, historical walking tours and community celebrations like Canada Day at the Bronte Legion.
Supporting grassroots events that reflect the spirit and diversity of Bronte Village remains a key priority.
Welcoming Visitors to the Neighbourhood
This year’s budget also supports marketing initiatives designed to bring new visitors to the area. A summer GO Transit advertising campaign will place promotional posters on Lakeshore West trains and at Bronte GO Station, encouraging commuters and travellers to discover Bronte Village as a waterfront destination for shopping, dining and local events.
In addition, the BIA is partnering with Look Local Magazine to produce a new Bronte Visitors’ Guide highlighting the businesses, experiences and stories that make our community special.
Together, these initiatives help ensure Bronte Village remains a vibrant waterfront destination where community, culture and local business come together. As the year unfolds, we invite residents and visitors alike to explore, experience and fall in love with Bronte Village all over again.
