A Brilliant Year in Bronte: 2025 Highlights

What a year, Bronte! Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together in 2025.

Welcome to the Neighbourhood

Bronte continued to thrive as a vibrant, welcoming neighbourhood for new businesses and visitors alike.

This year, we welcomed 13 new businesses to the district, including Pinnacle Pilates + Wellness, BikiWax, Bronte Boathouse Events, VR-VIBE, Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, Five Doors Down Holiday Pop Up Market, SOI Thaifoon, Oakville Barbershop, 502 Urban Coffee, Waterfront Eyecare, Alpha and Omega Books, The Preeners Dry Cleaners, and Glam & Lash By Chahat.

Events & Community Engagement

2025 was a year of creativity, celebration and connection.

We debuted Bronte Ice Notes in March, drawing 400+ attendees, and launched the new Bronte Bachata Party, which brought hundreds of visitors from across the GTA to Bronte Market Square on Friday evenings in June.

Together with the Town of Oakville, we delivered 8 weeks of Fresh Air Fitness, filling the Square with energy throughout July and August.

Our Bronte Lake Notes summer concert series drew record-breaking crowds and officially became Oakville’s favourite dance party.

The Bronte Farmers’ Market expanded to 12 weeks, featuring 40+ vendors and welcoming 1,000+ visitors each week. Survey results showed 74% of attendees supported local businesses on Market days – a significant boost for our small business community.

A Community Vote on new street banners attracted 2,482 votes, and new banners were installed at 13 additional locations across the district.

Our Community Investment Program also grew, supporting 14 groups and helping deliver 65+ BIA-supported events from June through October.

To celebrate the autumn season, we organized the first-ever Bronte Fallin’ for Fun Festival – a two-day family event that welcomed 7,000+ attendees for games, live music, art and dance workshops, an antique market, and special activations created by 17 local businesses and community partners.

Our annual At Home in Bronte for the Holidays tree-lighting celebration brought the magic of a classic Canadian winter to the neighbourhood. Thousands joined us to kick off the season with curling in the Square, hot Beavertails, axe throwing and a joyful celebration of all things local. From live performances to community vendors to the lighting of our 30’ tree, it was one of our most spirited events of the year.

Marketing & Advertising

This year, we continued to champion Bronte’s businesses and amplify local spending.

We launched two $1,000 gift card giveaways – Love Where You Live, Shop Where You Live and The Bronte Holiday Jackpot – to encourage local shopping and keep spending momentum strong.

The spring contest alone generated $76,659 in local purchases across 43 businesses, with 759 entries submitted.

We funded and distributed 23,000 copies of the Look Local Bronte Visitor Guide, transitioning from a seasonal summer guide to a year-round publication.

Bronte also helped pave the way for Oakville’s adoption of the national Shop Main Street Canada campaign, aligning the community around a clear, unified message: shop local first.

Beautification & Placemaking

2025 brought fresh colour, creativity and seasonal magic to Bronte.

We installed two iconic 8’ Muskoka Chairs in Bronte Market Square and launched Bronte Brush & Roll, rolling out six artist-painted picnic tables designed to spark community conversation and delight visitors.

New flower displays across the district added vibrant curb appeal, and we introduced a second art canoe garden at Bronte & Lakeshore.

This winter, we expanded our seasonal décor to include 70 hanging baskets throughout the district and introduced a 30’ Christmas tree adorned with ornaments hand-painted by members of our local community.

Thanks to the Town of Oakville, Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park is now adorned with year-round twinkle lights, including the gazebo, willow tree, washrooms, sail and mast, and 23 lampposts – supporting a more welcoming nighttime experience.
