Bronte Streetscaping Study Goes to Council on September 22

After months of planning and community input, the Bronte Village Streetscape Study is heading to Oakville Town Council on Monday, September 22 for presentation.

Developed through extensive engagement with local businesses, residents, and community groups, the proposed plan outlines a long-term vision to transform Bronte’s main street areas into a more vibrant, walkable, and welcoming destination for all.

Whether you live, work, shop, or play in Bronte, these proposed changes are designed to enhance how people move through and experience our beautiful lakeside neighbourhood.

Key Highlights from the Proposed Plan:

Wider Sidewalks: To support patios, pop-ups, and pedestrians – making Bronte more walkable and accessible year-round.

Enhanced Lighting, Landscaping & Street Furniture: Improved lighting, more greenery, and updated benches, planters, and waste bins will create a more attractive and comfortable streetscape for everyone.

Improved Wayfinding & Signage: Clearer signage and directional tools to help visitors explore local shops, restaurants, and attractions.

Unified Design Aesthetic: Consistent materials, colours, and design elements to reflect Bronte’s unique waterfront character and strengthen its identity as a vibrant, modern village.

What’s Next?

The plan will be presented to Oakville Town Council on September 22. This is a key milestone in bringing the vision for Bronte Village to life – ensuring it continues to thrive as a dynamic hub for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
