Noise By-Law Update: Open House on September 11
The Town of Oakville is hosting an open house for members of the public to learn more about proposed changes to the town’s noise regulations that would allow outdoor music on restaurant patios in commercial areas, Business Improvement Areas and mixed-use areas past 7 pm.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6-7:30 pm, at Oakville Town Hall’s South Atrium, 1225 Trafalgar Rd.
At its meeting on May 27, 2024, Town Council directed staff to investigate support of BIAs, commercial areas and mixed-use areas by extending hours of allowable noise (outdoor music on patios) past 7 pm. and bring back options to Council for consideration and approval of the town’s proposed Noise By-law 2024-079.
Municipal Enforcement Services (MES) staff will be at the Sept. 11 open house to speak to this additional proposed change to the noise by-law and answer questions from the public. Those who drop in will also have a chance to share their feedback by filling out comment cards.
