Meet Andrea Verasamy, founder and managing director of Strategic Wealth Management. With 20 years of experience helping businesses and families achieve their financial goals, she’s the go-to for all your financial and insurance needs. Andrea relocated her office in March of 2020, just at the start of the pandemic. “It was challenging getting established in a new location during the lockdown, but we got through it,” she says. Andrea credits the smooth transition to her new location to her office manager and executive assistant, Shakim. Andrea says, “He’s such a valued and integral member of my team.” The Bronte BIA got a chance to interview Andrea and talk about her business and her willingness to help her neighbours in Bronte.

What services do you offer?

“We do comprehensive financial plans for business owners and individuals,” says Andrea. “I take the time to really get to know my clients, so that I have a deep understanding of their immediate and future goals, allowing me to provide practical strategies that allow small business owners and individuals to achieve their current objectives while planning for the future.” To ensure all areas are covered, Andrea teams up with corporate partners, such as lawyers, accountants, realtors, and mortgage brokers. This allows her clients to get a full spectrum of advice that can influence their short-term needs and long-term goals. With the holistic approach involving the various sectors, Andrea says clients are truly getting unbiased, independent advice that is in their best interest.

What makes you special?

“I’ve built my business on the core values of helping clients to Plan, Grow and Live,” says Andrea. “Planning allows me to provide my clients with a roadmap to achieve their goals. As their life situation changes, my flexible plan grows with them and is adapted for their current needs helping them live their lives to their full potential.” Her strategy begins and ends with the best interest of her clients in mind. She does not believe in false promises, rather giving the client advice that is specific for their financial situation. Andrea says, “We always try to educate clients on making the best decisions for themselves. Always doing what’s right for them and giving honest, solid advice.”

What do you love about Bronte?

“We love it here in Bronte Village. It’s a really nice community and the people have been very welcoming. The lake is absolutely beautiful, and I’m enjoying sampling foods from the great selection of restaurants in the area – I’ve even been telling my out-of-town clients about them. I’m definitely happy with my decision to relocate my office here!”

Andrea has gotten to know the physical landscape of the area well, but now wants to know her fellow Bronte business owners better, too. “I am happy to sit down with business owners in Bronte for a one-on-one conversation where they can ask questions and get some free advice,” she says. Andrea knows the hardships that a lot of business owners have gone through over the past 18 months and wants them to know that she is here to support them.
