Limiting Crowds in Bronte with Fines
As community spread of COVID-19 continues and stay-at-home order remain in effect, the Town is working to limit crowding around popular parks, like Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, with increased parking fines. Local businesses are encouraged to do their part. The sooner numbers go down, the sooner we can re-open!
- Continue to encourage your customers to shop online and use curbside or delivery services
- Remind customers on your social media or via email to support local businesses, but limit their time in the district – for now
- Tell visitors that if parking lots are full, come back on less busy days (weekdays) at less busy times (mornings)
- Outdoor exercise and getting fresh air are strongly encouraged for local immediate families only
- On-street parking fines will increase to $100 to discourage parking in residential lakefront neighbourhoods and limit visitor numbers; read more: https://www.oakville.ca/townhall/nr-21may05.html
- The At in Bronte Muskoka chair project remains in place in the park, but is installed safely to keep large groups or non-family parties from gathering around them
